Justin + Rachel got married in West Kelowna at Sanctuary Gardens on September 2, 2017. When we arrived, the sun was blaring and it was the perfect September day to get married. From the moment I met these two I could tell they were pretty laid back but also had some great ideas for their photos. Like for example: their engagement session at an abandoned site in Summerland. Do yourself a favour and give it a look! But not before checking out this Sanctuary Gardens September wedding.
To start the day I met Justin + Rachel at Sanctuary Gardens. Justin was looking very handsome in his blue suit and Rachel looked so gorgeous in her lacy long sleeve! Side note: they also wore each others wedding rings on a necklace and Justin’s was hand crafted to have Rachel’s fingerprint on it – HOW CUTE IS THAT?! It was going to be such an amazing day! Rachel hid inside, keeping her dress a secret until the aisle while Justin greeted family and guests as they arrived.
Once everyone was seated Justin walked along the cobblestone path to the front of the aisle with the bridal party not long behind him. Then a quick pause, Rachel. Tears welled up, she was a stunner! Sondra Richardson performed a beautiful ceremony for them. She told the story of how they met and fell in love which led them to today! Justin + Rachel added items to their time capsule and signed the marriage registry. Finally sealed it all with a kiss! Congratulations love birds!
For Justin + Rachel’s bridals we stayed at Sanctuary Gardens because, well see for yourself but, its pretty marvellous. The view of the lake, the rolling hills, the winery up the hill. While we were in the middle of taking photos we noticed some smoke rising in the background and unfortunately, another forest fire had started (but it did make for some cool photos!). You’re definitely going to want to check out their bridals, some of my favs are in there!
Time for the reception came so we headed over to Shannon Lake Golf Course to eat and party! The little details Justin + Rachel included like the blueprint they created as their seating chart was so perfectly them (they are engineers!). The bridal party made their grand entrance and then we snuck out for a quick moment to catch the sunset down by the lake. SO WORTH IT. Sunset is my absolute favourite time of day. It is always worth the 10 minutes! Once we were done running around in bare feet across the grasses we went inside to eat and dance the night away.
Check out their day and leave them some love below!
