Porteau Cove on a sunny day? A must see in Vancouver! I got to take pictures of this beautiful family during golden hour there. Which okay, isn’t actually in Vancouver but about 40 minutes down the sea-to-sky highway from Vancouver. On this particular evening, the sun was setting behind the mountains and created such a magical atmosphere. I got to be a part of this families wedding last summer and now to be shooting their maternity session is so special! We blew bubbles on the beach and collected shells as we enjoyed the evening. It was one of those moments where you just feel grateful to be alive, you know?
I love taking pictures of families – there’s something so special about capturing a moment in time for them. I really believe in creating genuine, authentic family photos – I don’t want to stage anything or force anyone to pose awkwardly. I try to be as natural and documentary as possible, just letting the family do its thing and capturing those raw, real moments. I think anyone can tell the difference between a cheesy, staged photo and one that truly captures a moment of connection and love.
I feel honoured to have been a part of this special time in their lives and I hope that these maternity photos at Porteau Cove are a cherished memory for them for years to come.
