Every couple has a place that feels like theirs. For these two, it’s Pacific Spirit Park. It’s where they walk together nearly every day, weaving their routines through tall evergreens and quiet trails. Over time, those simple daily moments became a part of their love story, so it only felt right to capture their engagement session in the place that holds so much meaning for them.
As we wandered through the forest, they slipped naturally into the rhythm of their everyday walks. Laughing, chatting, reaching for each other’s hand. These are the feelings I love to photograph: unposed, honest, and full of warmth.
We explored the winding paths they know so well, pausing as certain spots sparked a story or a smile. The gentle exchanges, soft glances, and laughter told their story more beautifully than any pose ever could. These small, candid moments are what I’m always drawn to capturing. I was able to capture this session both digitally and on 35mm film, to add a bit of a nostalgic feel with the film.
By the end of the session, we had created a gallery that feels like a continuation of their everyday life. With images that reflect who they are together, in the place that shaped so much of their relationship. When they look back on these photographs, I hope they see not just the beauty of Pacific Spirit Park, but the story of their connection held within it.
Engagement photos should feel like a piece of your life, something that brings you back to a feeling, a season, a chapter. I’m so grateful to have documented this one. Pacific Spirit Park will forever be part of their story, and now, it’s part of their photos too.
