I met Robin + Amelia at our guesthouse in Casablanca after we found out we had been on the same flight over from Montreal. They were the sweetest! We began talking about our upcoming travels and it turned out we were heading in the same direction so the next day so, I hoped in with them and we began our road trip from Casablaca to the small town of Essaouira, Morocco. The drive was simply stunning! The sun was shining and we watched as the landscape changed around us as the packs of wild camels + donkeys went in and out of sight. We finally arrived to Essaouira at dusk and the entrance to the medina was bustling with people. We entered with excitement! We headed inside and soon parted ways at different hostels. The next morning it wasn’t long before we ran into each other in the small coastal town. We planned to meet at the fish market an hour later to take some images together! We needed to document their Moroccan adventures while they were expecting their little one! For their session we ventured around the beach, the local fish markets, we had fresh oysters and bought some eel to cook up afterwards. We caught the last bit of light in an alleyway filled with Moroccan rugs and used the light off some local lanterns on our way back to cook up the eel. We got to Robin + Amelia’s hostel and cut up some fresh veggies, the eel (to the best of our knowledge!) and threw some fresh squid to a pot, cooked it up and enjoyed a scrumptious meal together! It was such a pleasure meeting these two, adventuring with them and getting to capture a piece of their journey!
Check out Robin + Amelia’s Essaouira Moroccan session and leave them some love below!
Roben also decided to document some of the session 0n his film camera. Can’t wait to see his film scans!
And a little selfie we got together because these two are awesome and this turned out hilarious 🙂
Let me know if you’re headed to Morocco and would like to document it together! My bags are being packed!
