Mike grew up with one of my past groom’s Rory and when I got Mike + Jen’s inquiry for their Naramata Wedding at Lang Vineyards I was so excited! Their group of friends are amazing and I am always excited to spend the day in the Okanagan vineyards! Lang is on the top of the bench creating such a magical view of the lake and the surrounding wineries!
The day started off by running into Mike as he was parked on the way to the guesthouse getting ready with the groomsmen so he wouldn’t see Jen before the first look. I drove past and did a quick double take and pulled a u-y. Snapped a couple quick shots of their make-shift dressing room and kept heading down the road for Jen. We were off to a good start!
Jen and the girls had soft music playing, were calm and ready to get the day started! Everyone got into their dresses. Tears were shed, their dog Luna was snuggled and we headed out to the viewpoint for the first look.
Mike was in place and Jen made her way out. They enjoyed couple beautiful moments together before the rest of the crew came back. (Side note: I highly suggest this! Taking moments out of the day to just be with each other and fully take it all in is so important!)
We took some shots of the bridal party and a few more of Mike + Jen and before we knew it, it was time to head to Lang Vineyards for the ceremony! Everyone was there ready to go when we got there. The ceremony was so beautiful! It ended off with one of Jen’s bridesmaids and her husband singing a Civil Wars song, everyone just relaxed for a moment, took in the sun and enjoyed their harmony!
Next up was the trestles with just the three of us. If you haven’t been to the Naramata Trestles – I highly recommend it! It is super easy to get to and as you’ll see – just another amazing Okanagan view! Pair that with the way it was making Jen’s veil blow and oh my goodness, we created some stunning images!
Dinner was waiting when we got back to Lang and we dug in! So good. We ran out to get a couple shots in the vineyard and then speeches started. I absolutely love speeches. It is a time of reflection, fun stories and good wishes. I love how you can get to know people by what their close friends say about them. Mike + Jen’s family and friends radiated kindness and joy with their words to the couple! Then they had their speech to each other and everyone was laughing, then tearing up, and then laughing again! As the sun started to hit the horizon, I said my goodbyes.
